The new Netanyahu government that was sworn in last week brings with it a new era on the Temple Mount. The Temple Mount has not been under our strict and sole control since the Six Day War in June 1967, so very few Jews have ascended the Mount. New National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and new Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich often ascend the Temple Mount. They aim to undo all restrictions on Jews that were present until today. We hope that they will realize their ambitions and their promises. The Temple Mount was dedicated by King Solomon approximately 2800 years ago as a house of prayer for the Jewish people and all Nations of the World. May we see the building of the 3rd Temple soon.

In 2022, 45,130 Israeli Jews and 256,804 tourists ascended the Temple Mount.

Winter climate, short days.

In the Temple itself, the amount of oil that should be put in the candlestick is determined according to the "long nights of Tevet".

On the 10th of Tevet began the siege of Jerusalem. The first of a sequence of events which ended with the destruction of the Temple on the 9th of the month of Av. Therefore Judaism marks these events with two fasts: that of the beginning of siege and that of the destruction of the Temple.

This is one of the motivations of the 10 Tevet fast: to pinpoint the problem from the start.

During this month, we are called to action. When a problem is first discovered , we need to do everything so that it does not develop and become irreversible.
