โThe day of the rains is great, as even a peny in oneโs pocket is blessed on it โย
The month of Heshvan is a month of abundance of life that descends from the heaven in the form of rain, and the sages have already said that the main thing in this month is the abundance of blessing that manifests itself in many things including rain.
There are people who do not know how to accept the goodness of the rain as did the Generation of the Flood. They were unable to properly accept the blessing.
The Flood began in the second month, Heshvan, in the 600th year of Noahโs life.ย
โ...for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah...โ.
The Flood occurred because of everyone other than Noah, so why was the Flood named after him?
Noah did not believe in his ability to change the atmosphere around him. He did not believe in his responsibility if he is the only one who knows what is good to relay this message to others.
The prophet came to teach us ultimately the Flood was named after a person who did not believe in his ability to change.
Moses, in a difficult moment after sin of the Golden Calf, sees that God wants to annihilate the Nation of Israel, and he chooses to take responsibility, Moses tells themย
If thou wilt forgive their sins--; and if not, blot meโ
The Hebrew word Meheni (โblotโ) is composed of the (Hebrew) words Mei Noah (Waters of Noah)โ.
Moshe said, I learned the message of โWaters of Noah" to the world about giving up when you have the strength to change the situation.
Even today, all people are capable of making significant changes.
The connection to the gates of heaven will occur in the month of Heshvan. Rabbi Tzadok Hacohen of Lublin wrote in โPri Tzaddikโ: โAnd here every month has a special matter to deal with, and the month of Heshvan should be strengthened and begin to rise from the fall and introduce ourselves to holiness in the fear of Him.
And Shem Mishmuel writes "Behold, in this New Year, soon in our days, Israel will improve in education in the days of Messiah, son of David, and they will ask for the Lord their God and David their king."
The correction of the Exile is to ask the three of you together so that Israel will bring a sign of blessing to the world: the Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of David and the building of the Temple. (Hosea 3:5) 'afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king - this is the Kingdom of Heaven. โAnd David your Kingโ - is the Kingdom of the House of David. and shall come trembling unto the LORD and to His goodness in the end of days.โ - is the building of the Temple.
To understand how important these requests are, our sages appear to have instructed us to ask for them both in Birkat Hamzon and Birkat Rachem and in the Tzaddikim blessingโ in the Shemoneh Esreh (Eighteen Benedictions), - this is the Kingdom of Heaven. โbuilder of Jerusalemโ - is the Temple. โwho causest salvation to flourish, -this is the Kingdom of the House of Davidโย
And may we be able to correct the correction, and believe first of all in ourselves and the right of our prayers of the month of Tishrei, we can bring about great changes in the entire world and influence the construction of the Third Temple. (From Rabbi Chemouel Eliyaou and Rabbi Yoav Yossef Akrich ).
